Executive vision

Global agriculture today is facing a daunting task to provide increasing volumes of safe food production with significant headwinds, such as soil fertility depletion and erosion, resistant weed and insect pests, anti-biotic poisoning, environmental fertiliser damage pressures along with increasing fertiliser, labour and other Capex / Opex costs and overlain with pressure to ensure high level CO2 mitigation from fuel, fertiliser and biomass utilisation.

Our vision is creating and producing a smart, holistic system that can boost soil fertility, increase crop production, lower costs, eliminate nutrient run-off and greenhouse gasification, sequester vast amounts of carbon in the soil and create a nutrient system which is not an addition to the soil but a permanent building block of the soil, which our vision believes will lead to a “semi-perpetual” fertiliser system that only requires “topping up” with nutrients as indicated by soil analyses. … even if there is no soil to start with!

Feedstock Input

Our product solutions are based on any organic “biomass” source that in many cases is presently classified as “waste” but can be transformed into a high value, high impact product that can reduce fertiliser costs, enhance soil fertility and combat hormone and anti-biotic contamination.

The JWI process is unique in that a wet waste up to 85% moisture can be treated to produce a pelletised product that is impregnated with our self desiccating binders which allow high rate moisture loss without any heating to dry the product. Final moisture is between 5% to 15% depending upon pellet size and desiccation time.

Product utilisation

Each of the waste streams listed generate highly nutritious organic feedstock, which can be blended if necessary to create a product that is customised for a particular commercial application, soil type and plant species.

JWinnovo enhances these highly nutritious organic materials with specific additives such as select nutrient adsorbers, which store liquid nutrients and release as needed by root and soil requirements.

Each crop / soil / climate application requires specific nutrients, sorber capacity, organic carbon, micro-nutrients, silica and bacteria, for which this system is designed.

Product input

Equipment is modular and if necessary trailer mounted, so transport, installation and commissioning is rapid and low cost. Robust, cost effective and flexible equipment is matched to versatile elegant binder & desiccant chemistry, which can be varied quickly with feedstock changes.

Feedstock is low value or paid disposal and can come from multiple sources, the JWI system does not need any feedstock preparation such as pre-screening, pre-drying or fine grinding.

Pelletising of raw feed with little preparation allows very low operational costs and operational steps, resulting in low costs per product tonne. The pellets will self desiccate in an open area in 7 to 21 days, depending upon pellet diameter, prior to shipping, bagging or use as a fuel.

The binder/desiccant chemistry can be modified to accommodate client requirements for pathogen sterilisation and interference with anti-biotic residues in some waste streams.

Output value

Fertiliser value is usually based upon available Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P) and Potassium (K) (NPK), which comes historically from industrial fertiliser products which are usually sold in a wide variety of forms and pricing. Organic fertilisers can also be rated and priced according to this formula.

However, the products produced using the JWinnovo process are much more advanced, long lasting and versatile, than simple chemical spreading on the surface of a field or even injection of “inorganic” slow release fertiliser into the soil.

Our 10% moisture pellets contain an optimal balance of not just NPK but also, micronutrients, organic carbon, calcium, silica along with soil enhancing bacteria and fungi. Our pellets contain adsorbing minerals and char carbon that not only adsorb nutrients during pelletisation, but also nutrients formed in the soil from root and pellet biomass decay.

Once our pellets are injected into the soil the pellet itself is over 60% carbon of which 5% is activated char carbon and hence an excellent carbon negative product that remain permanently in the soil along with special mineral sorbers for many years significantly contributing to soil health.

Modern fertiliser application is highly wasteful with only a reported ~25% of the available nutrients actually taken up by the crop, with the balance consumed by greenhouse gasification, damaging nutrient run-off and consumed by soil bacteria above the root zone, with a substantial amount of this wasted before the crop seeds have even germinated!

Injected JWinnovo pellets have been estimated to save 20-40% of fertiliser costs in the first application with costs dropping year on year as the permanent sorber inventory builds in the root horizon in the soil.

Smart New Soil Solutions

JWinnovo technology is a total solution from the custom designed waste handling plant through to pellets injected into the soil. JWinnovo technology targets multiple cost farm performance, nutrient & water waste and associated environmental impacts and the development of a symbiotic relationship between intensive farming while increasing soil health.

Our scope of technology is seamlessly integrated from loading organic residues into the plant through pellet production, quality control, desiccation & materials handling and importantly, the equipment to inject the product into the soil at the appropriate soil horizon.

We will also be continuously working with licence holders, crop farmers, mine reclamation teams, marginal soil or desert ranchers / farmers, universities, forestry and horticultural specialists to continually maximise the unique value of our smart holistic and integrated technology systems.

Long term mission

Our essential message is firstly viewing local sources of nutrient rich organic materials as potential fertiliser rather than wet decaying, disease ridden “wastes” and that “fertiliser” is far more elegant than “NPK content” alone.

Interestingly, even though these principles are well understood by most if not all people involved in plant growing for hundreds of years, the mechanism for making maximum use of these “wastes” has been inefficient, low impact and have increased costs…..until now with the advent of JWinnovo technology!

We believe our somewhat unorthodox approach to fertiliser production and sub-soil pellet placement, will promote a wider acceptance of the JWinnovo technology, which can be used at a large scale to utilise large amounts of organic materials as fertiliser that are currently wasted.

The holistic approach of the JWinnovo technology will also allow a much more interactive technical analysis of local soil nutrient chemistry, and locally generate a customised fertiliser to suit, soil conditions, crop type and seasonal variations to boost crop health and production, while lowering fertiliser costs.

Also, in the longer term, how these complex chemical and bio-chemical systems can be engineered to only require being “topped” up with additional pellets optimised to soil needs and crop demands at that time as necessary - this is our real mission.
